Arca

Arca is a personal administrative vault: it keeps track of the deadlines of your paperwork — ID documents, contracts, notice periods — and helps you find the related information when you need it.

It answers three questions:

  1. What is coming up? The dashboard lists what you must act on, sorted by the date you must act, not only by the date of the event.
  2. Where is that contract number? Every item is a record with its organization, reference and notes, and a search that ignores accents and case.
  3. What must I do, and by when? Each deadline has a notice period: Arca computes the date by which you must act and reminds you on the dashboard.

What Arca does not do

  • No legal rules. Notice periods differ between countries and change over time: you enter them, Arca never guesses them.
  • No cloud, no telemetry. Arca runs on your own machine or server and makes no outgoing network call.
  • One user per installation, who manages the records of everyone in the household.

Where to start

  • Installation installs Arca with Docker or from the sources, behind a reverse proxy if needed, and keeps it up to date.
  • Concepts explains records, deadlines, notice periods and the action date.
  • First steps walks you through your first records.
  • Screen guide describes every screen, with screenshots.
  • Operations covers settings, backups, restore, integrity checks, the calendar feed and login security.
